JKBOSE Out of Syllabus Grace Marks: In a significant move, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has acknowledged the complaints of out-of-syllabus questions in the Class 10 and Class 11 annual examinations. Following an expert review, the JKBOSE Subject Expert Committee has recommended awarding grace marks to affected students.
Subject Expert Committee’s Findings
After widespread concerns from students about incorrectly included questions, JKBOSE formed a panel of subject experts to assess the issue. Following consultations with experts from Kashmir and Jammu divisions, it was confirmed that some questions in multiple subjects were either from deleted syllabus portions or incorrectly framed.
A top JKBOSE official revealed that:
- Class 10 students faced issues in Social Studies and Urdu papers.
- Class 11 students (both hard and soft zones) encountered out-of-syllabus questions in Mathematics.
- Some Social Studies questions were wrongly placed in the Class 10 paper.
- In Class 11 Mathematics, questions worth 16 marks were from the deleted syllabus.
Grace Marks Recommended for Affected Subjects
Based on the expert panel’s report, JKBOSE has decided to award grace marks in the following subjects:

Action Against Paper Setters
JKBOSE has also decided to penalize the responsible paper setters for their mistakes. Normally, paper setters who commit such errors are permanently debarred from setting future papers. However, considering the seriousness of this issue, the board is considering monetary penalties as a deterrent for future mistakes.

A senior JKBOSE official assured students, stating:
“We will not let students suffer. The Subject Expert Committee has recommended awarding grace marks, and JKBOSE will implement this fairly. We will also take strict action against those responsible for these errors to prevent such incidents in the future.”
our centre is in govt boys higher secondary narbal..
there is conducting examination in 3 class rooms but 5 teachers are giving duty in one class. but in other 2 classes there is giving duty only 2 teacher and some students are doing cheating and some students take mobile phone in the class room i have seen this with my naked eyes
Class xi chemistry paper has also included some question which was out of syllabus… Like wurtz reaction and law of reciprocal proportion.. Plz have a view on it

Respected sir/mam, JKBOSE Education Department,
I am writing to bring to your kind attention that in the recently conducted Class 10th JKBOSE exam 2025, there were many out of syllabus questions in almost all subjects and following this there were three multiple choice questions questions in the Z series of science paper that was held on 3 march 2025 ,that were outside the prescribed syllabus.
These questions caused confusion and difficulty for many students, including myself, who had prepared diligently within the bounds of the syllabus.
I request that you take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that such errors do not recur in future examinations.
I would appreciate a response regarding the steps you will take to rectify this situation.

Class 11th Biology paper was very tough please easy checking karna
Biology paper was also very tough.it wasn’t from out of syllabus but it was very unexpected paper
Sir also science’s one mcq was out of syllabus . The mcq included evolution(topic) which was deleted.
Class 10th science paper ( all series) Q6 &Q14 ( objectives) were also out of syllabus. Grace marks should be given in science also.

CLASS 11TH HAD OUT OF SYLLABUS QUESTIONS IN CHEMISTRY TOO. WHY DON’T YOU CONSIDER THOSE QUESTIONS? YOU ONLY CONSIDERED SOME MATHEMATICS QUESTION BUT NOT CHEMISTRY. YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THOSE QUESTIONS TOO. THIS IS REALLY NOT FAIR.

Due to these questions various students get panic and these thing effect students performance in examination I hope you will take some action and provide grace marks and take care in future to prevent such these incidents

Graving marks are must .we need graving marks to pass in the exams otherwise it is the mistake of the paper setters who destroys our future
