UGC NET December 2025: NTA issues advisory for candidates using Aadhaar to register

According to the official schedule, candidates can pay the examination fee until October 25, while the application correction window will be open from October 27 to 29, 2025. The exam will be conducted on December 18, 2025, in two shifts — from 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply. The upper age limit for JRF applicants is 30 years as of October 1, 2025, while there is no age limit for those applying for Assistant Professor or PhD admission.

In terms of educational qualifications, General/Unreserved/EWS candidates must have at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university. Those belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender categories must have a minimum of 50% marks.

Candidates in the final year of their Master’s programme or awaiting results are also eligible to apply. Additionally, those with a four-year bachelor’s degree must have obtained at least 75% marks or an equivalent grade.

Step 3: Register yourself using valid credentials and proceed to fill out the application form.
Step 4: Upload the required documents, pay the applicable fee, and submit the form.
Step 5: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET (December) 2025 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for multiple science disciplines, serving as one of India’s most important eligibility examinations for research and teaching positions.
