CTET Exam – Conducted Twice a Year

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is held twice every year. The first session takes place in July, while the second one is usually scheduled for December.

• Paper 1 qualifies candidates to teach Classes 1 to 5.
• Paper 2 qualifies candidates to teach Classes 6 to 8.

CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To ensure you’re eligible, check the qualifications required for each paper.

Paper 1 (For Classes 1 to 5)

• Minimum 50% marks in Class 12 and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
• 50% in Class 12 with a 4-year B.El.Ed, or
• 50% in Class 12 with a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

Paper 2 (For Classes 6 to 8)

Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or

• 50% in Graduation with B.Ed, or
• 50% in Class 12 with a 4-year B.El.Ed, or
• 50% in Class 12 with a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed, or
• 50% in Graduation with B.Ed in Special Education.

Minimum Marks and Passing Criteria

To qualify for CTET, candidates need to secure minimum marks as set by CBSE:

• General Category: 90 marks out of 150 (60%).
• SC/ST/OBC Categories: 82 marks out of 150 (55%).

When Will the CTET 2025 December Exam Be Held?
